Is it me or has food become a lot more expensive?? I honestly don’t think I splash out on expensive items yet…My total food bill says otherwise! I mean It’s true, I like to eat healthy. I’m not a fan of Junk Food, High Fat Foods etc….I most certainly don’t live on Pot Noodles, Chips & Sausages! I love things like fish, salad, rice & Veggies but, does that mean I should have to pay through the nose, just because I want to still be able to walk around in 10 years to come!?
They say eating healthier is ultimatley cheaper? I’ve gotta be honest, Im not really seeing that?
I think it’s a f**ckin liberty that places like Asda’s charge £3 for a punnet of Strawberries yet Market Stalls can sell them for a quid!! (I’m using Asdas as an example because it’s where I shop, and claims to be cheap) How people shop in Marks & Spencers I’ll never know! Surely they must have to remortgage every now & then just so they can fill a small basket with over priced food! Or, maybe they have the wonderous Money Tree in their back yard? Whatever the reason, I guess it makes them feel just that ‘tad’ better than the rest of us for a short while.
I’ve tried & tried & tried to lower my food budget (although I’m sure Steve would laugh at that comment) but, I just cant do it. I remember a time when I could get far more for my money than I get now…Don’t tell me, it’s because of the reccession! I know nothing of the reccession, I don’t understand it & I don’t want to understand it – Hold on, isn’t that where people in Authority/Government/Whatever…… take the fuckin piss???
They’ve got us by the nuts really because we still have to eat regardless of the prices! The only choice we do have is whether we want to survive on Super Noodles, Chips & Mash or a variety of other foods which may bust the food budget…..

We’ve got a Marks and a Sainsburys practically right next door. There is a tesco and morrisons, but driving distance away. Sinasburys seem to really be pushing their basics range, and I seem to be buying – for the most part it’s pretty much the same as the regular ranges. Still, you’re right. It’s costing an absolute fortune to eat these days.
Actually, I have pondered the Idea of visiting Sainsbury’s…That was of course until Waitrose launched their ‘Essential’ Range!! I do love a bit of Waitrose!!! I normally go in there to treat myself once in a while
I love the fact that they have a Salad Bar….Their Apple & Walnut Salad is YUMMY!
